The Beauty of Wonder

Allowing yourself to wonder about the possibilities of life

Do you allow yourself to experience the beauty of wonder? Or do you cut thoughts short when they go to those places that you keep hidden?

When I was walking through the UK, I experienced the beauty of wonder. Those thoughts that just come marveling about creation. Wondering why midges exist… and how the perspective changes with every breeze of the wind.

But let’s not get too philosophical!

Wondering

When you allow yourself to wonder, you’re essentially opening up a trail network in your mind.

There are well-trodden paths, the ones you know since childhood. Some old paths that are overgrown and little used. There are tiny trails that go up and down – the ones you wanted to explore but didn’t quite dare to.

You’ll find the crossroads that remind you of what has been and the turns you didn’t take. Maybe you wonder what would have happened… And you might wonder why you took the easy way and where it has led you.

With all that it’s understandable that we often shut the door to this trail network. It’s too much to deal with. Too many memories – many happy, others reminders of what could have been.

Wandering

There is another side though: when you wander and wonder. When you use the power of movement to take you along to wonder what could be in future.

Walking or hiking are forward movements that facilitate thoughts of what’s next very well. That’s why I often take my clients for a walk. Literally.

On your own, you might be drawn back down memory lane. But walking with a coach and the goal of moving forward you will stay in the present moment.

The Next Step

The beauty of wonder starts with the first step. It is impossible to get anywhere without moving your feet forward.

In the same vein, it’s also impossible to move your life forward without letting your mind wonder.

There are people who say that dreams are just Luftschloesser (a German expression meaning “air castles” – often used for desires that are believed to be out of reach).

In my experience, dreams are the first step. The beauty of wondering ‘could this happen for me’.

Yes, you need to take action on the wonderful thought.

To make it a wonder filled life.

You might have noticed that I’ve chosen the tagline “wonder. trust. grow.” It’s phonetically similar to The Wanderlust Coach. And it is also what my clients come to me for: to wonder about their options. To trust what they truly want they can really have. And to grow into the person they need to be.

Do you want to wonder and see where it takes you?  I’d love  to have a chat with you to see what you discover. 15 minutes. Free. Maybe this is your next step.
