Proliferation and Promise
It’s the time of the year where everything explodes, thus giving us proliferation and the promise of what’s to come later in the year.
Admittedly, I was unfamiliar with the word proliferation before deciding on this week’s blog; but it fits just so well into what we’ve been talking about.
As I look around the garden I see many large, old trees in full bloom. I’m lucky that I live in an area with a proliferation of fruit trees! With the sunshine and warm weather, plus the rains we had, it’ll be a good harvest!
Last week we discussed the importance of community. It doesn’t matter whether you’re part of a team at work, if you’re volunteering somewhere, or if you run your own business. We all need to be part of something bigger.
There’s an unspoken promise about belonging to a group: you are supported. We’ve got you. You will succeed. And, together we can do even more.
So, I have to say that I’m super excited about what’s to come for you! What community are you part of that’s helping you with your big idea that you called forward in February?
If you’ve been keeping up with me, jump ahead to the inspirational quote section. If not, and you’re somewhat at a loss what I’m referring to in the above you have a few options:
- Continue reading – especially if this topic is calling to you!
- Go back to the start of this Celtic calendar exploration. The Beginnings Collection is about exploring your options and making good decisions.
- Find out more about this year-long journey of personal growth and manifesting dreams.
Now, let’s return to this week’s topic of proliferation and promise.
Inspirational Quote
This week’s inspirational quote is personal. If you know me, it’s a quote that’s fitting (even though I’m not the author!).
“I don’t know where I’m going from here but I promise it won’t be boring.”
David Bowie
A year ago, I was preparing for an adventure of a lifetime. I had set my heart on walking through the UK. From the Cotswolds to Inverness, Scotland.
While I did the walking on my own (with the dogs), there were a lot of people who helped with the preparation. They helped with wisdom, advice, and practicalities.
My landlord decided to do some remodelling work to the cottage so that I still had a place to return to but not the full rental costs.
One of my neighbours offered me a secure space for my car on her estate.
Another neighbour (and good friend) gifted me a St Christopher chain – I still wear it to this day!
Community is important to helping us fulfil our promises. And the more we see the support that’s being given to us, the more it grows.
How to Grow Your Expected Promises
Let’s be clear here: I’m not asking you to grow the number of promises you give. Truth be told that is probably already far too high!
No, what I’m discussing here is growing the expected promises that will be fulfilled for you.
Let’s return to the orchard example: in the right conditions, and with the right timing, the trees come into bloom. Each single blossom is a promise of a fruit to grow. The larger the amount of blossoms, the larger the expected harvest later in the season.
For now, it’s a promise.
You’ve done the work of creating the right conditions for growth. You’ve done the work to know what you want, and can relax into right timing. And because of the community you’ve created around you, you have also laid the foundation for expanding and increasing your opportunities of success. Your own blossoms if you will.
What is Right Timing
As I’m writing this, I’ve become aware that you might not quite know what I mean by right timing. It’s a term that’s used a lot in Quantum Human Design (which is one of the communities that I hang out in).
Right timing happens when things fall into place. When your intuition nudges you to go forward with something.
The problem with this concept is twofold:
- We rarely are that patient to wait for right timing. We want to control when something happens and not feel steered by a higher power. So we often push with sheer will to get what we want – only to not get what we want or burn out.
- On the off chance we do encounter right timing, we’re often not prepared for it. We’ve been so busy pushing for what we want, that we didn’t get ready and prepared what was necessary to get going when the time comes.
It’s been my desire throughout the blogs and Soul Journeys to support you with right timing; and it’s now the right time to introduce the subject.
The promises that are waiting to be fulfilled for you later in the year can only be fulfilled with right timing. So hang in there, be patient, and prepare the way.
Patience for Promise
Yes, you did read that last sentence right. You need to be patient. I struggled with that one a LOT (I still do sometimes). But it’s so gorgeous to witness when right timing happens.
The promise is fulfilled.
Now, I know you don’t want to wait. It feels like you’ve been waiting since you put pen to paper in February contemplating your options.
BUT please hang in there!
If it helps, look back at your life and see where you were patient for a promise to be fulfilled. Maybe in your childhood you really, really wanted something for your birthday and had to wait.
I remember wanting a particular bike when I was about 5 years old. My parents had taken me to the shops to trial different ones, and I fell in love with a pink one (of course). It was still a few weeks until my birthday, but my parents made a promise to me that day: if you can remember the name of the bike until we’re home you’ll get it.
They kept the promise. And I still remember the bike’s name haha.
Relax into knowing that you are supported by your community, the universe, and your self. Don’t force it, for it will not come to you.
Keep the promise in mind and it will be fulfilled when the time is right.
